After a bit on research online, that seems to be a common problem and many people are drawing the flat pattern separately.
The flight pitch is generally kept equal to the diameter of the flight; however, greater pitches can result in better capacity as long as the auger will only operate at low angles of elevation. The design of the choke (i.e. the part of the screw outside the tube) and choke opening further influences performance.
Sectional Auger Flighting. We manufacture sectional flighting by cutting blanks from plate metal and forming into individual one-pitch segments with precise outer diameter, inner diameter and pitch dimensions. We produce flighting in thicknesses ranging from 3/16" to 1" with the flight thickness maintained constant from inner to outer edge.
