Sep 01, 2015· In this study, we quantitatively characterized the chemical composition (inorganic and organic chemistry) and microbiology of PW from 13 Pennsylvania shale gas wells located along a 22-mile transect through Tioga and Lycoming counties. Our results show that TDS was high in all wells, but the organic chemistry and microbiology was highly variable.

(2016) used GEOS-Chem to deduce nitrate as the dominant aerosol species in the ATAL region Hoepfner et al. (2016) found ~30 ppt NH 3 in MIPAS observations of the ASM anticyclone SO 2 < 5 ppt NH 3 on N flank of A/C ...
Kerogen is solid, insoluble organic matter in sedimentary rocks.Comprising an estimated 10 16 tons of carbon, it is the most abundant source of organic compounds on earth, exceeding the total organic content of living matter 10,000-fold. It is insoluble in normal organic solvents and it does not have a specific chemical formula.Upon heating, kerogen converts in part to liquid and gaseous ...
Results are presented on the correlation of the emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) from the combustion of pulverized bituminous coal and tire-derived fuel. The particle size cuts of coal and tire crumb were 63−75 and 180−212 μm, respectively. Combustion experiments were conducted in laboratory-scale facilities under controlled conditions.

Some studies have been conducted to investigate SO 2 and NO release under the effect of these calcium based organic compounds. Atal ... residence time of 1 s and bulk equivalence ratio of 1.3 removed over 90% of SO 2 and NO x at gas temperature over 1223 ...
Evaluation of the nutritive value of muiumba (Baikiaea plurijuga) seeds: chemical composition, in vitro organic matter digestibility and in vitro gas production
May 01, 2020· The Asian Tropopause Aerosol Layer (ATAL) has been found to be an aerosol layer with exceptionally high particle number concentrations in the UT/LS altitude range. During the StratoClim 2017 field campaign in Nepal we deployed the novel in-situ aerosol mass spectrometer ERICA (ERC Instrument for Chemical composition of Aerosols). It combines the methods of laser ablation mass …
in-canopy chemical destruction) has not been unequivocally determined, hindering the ability to correctly assess ground-level ozone. Thus, forest canopy plays a significant role in regulating the trace gas composition in the atmosphere. Di-rect observations of NOx and O3 exchange with a wide va-riety of plants and in various ecosystems are ...
Crystalline metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are formed by reticular synthesis, which creates strong bonds between inorganic and organic units. Careful selection of MOF constituents can yield crystals of ultrahigh porosity and high thermal and chemical stability. These characteristics allow the inter …
Jan 01, 2004· Gas samples were withdrawn through a HPDE Luer stopcock and air from each sample bag was analyzed for volatile organic compounds according to EPA Method TO15. This method was developed for quantification of both polar and nonpolar compounds for trace organic compounds in air samples by gas chromatography with a mass selective detector.
This layer, known as the Asian Tropopause Aerosol Layer (ATAL) [64,115], is likely to be associated with Asian emissions of anthropogenic pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide and volatile organic ...

Feb 24, 2021· Using the GEOS-Chem (Goddard Earth Observing System with Chemistry) chemical transport model, Fairlie et al. (2020) found significant amounts of sulfate, ammonium, organic aerosols and nitrate in the ATAL, with a predominant contribution of nitrate, as was identified previously by Gu et al. (2016) using an earlier version of the model.
CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL INFORMATION 3.1 CHEMICAL IDENTITY Gasoline is a refined product of petroleum consisting of a mixture of hydrocarbons, additives, and blending agents. The composition of gasolines varies widely, depending on the crude oils used, the refinery processes available, the overall balance of product demand, and the product ...
Oct 17, 1998· Results are presented on the correlation of the emissions of carbon monoxide (CO) and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) from the combustion of pulverized bituminous coal and tire-derived fuel. The particle size cuts of coal and tire crumb were 63−75 and 180−212 μm, respectively. Combustion experiments were conducted in laboratory-scale facilities under controlled conditions. The ...
Landfill Gas Production and Composition: In general, during anaerobic conditions, the composition of landfill gas is approximately 50 percent methane and 50 percent carbon dioxide with trace amounts (<1 percent) of nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen, and nonmethane organic compounds (NMOCs). The more organic waste and moisture
Chemical Constitution of Crude Oil. Crude oil contains organic compounds, heteroatom compounds (S,N,O), hydrocarbons (C, H), metals and organic (Ni, V, Fe) and inorganic (Na +, Ca ++, Cl-) compounds as listed in Figure 1.7.Compounds that contain only elements of carbon and hydrogen are called hydrocarbons and constitute the largest group of organic compounds found in petroleum.
An organic compound is one of a broad class of chemical compounds in which one or more atoms of carbon, most commonly hydrogen, oxygen, or nitrogen, are covalently bound to atoms of other elements. Carbides, carbonates, and cyanides form the only carbon-containing compounds not known as organic.
Volatile organic compounds, or VOCs are organic chemical compounds whose composition makes it possible for them to evaporate under normal indoor atmospheric conditions of temperature and pressure 3. This is the general definition of VOCs that is used in the scientific literature, and is consistent with the definition used for indoor air quality.
Nov 01, 1989· Biogas composition (CO2, CH4, H2, N2, 02) was determined with a gas chromatograph (Packard 407), equipped with a TCD detector and with two parallel columns: a column of 1.5 m 1/8 inch, Teflon packed chromosorb 108, 60-80 mesh and a 1.2 m1/8 inch mol. sieve 5A, 60-80 mesh. The column split ratio was 1:1.
For example, the number of heterogeneous chemical reactions on sulfuric acid droplets is greater than that on the other types of aerosols. However, due to the lack of in situ measurements of the chemical composition of ATAL aerosols, there is still definitely great controversy regarding the source and composition of the ATAL.
